I know I’m a little late to the party but let me wish you all a happy 2020 and may your wildest dreams come true. Let’s have a look at my plans for the new year and what I’m hoping to achieve.
Release of the second episode of Doom II: Annie
The development of the first map of episode 2 has been an awesome and crazy event. I’m really glad I decided to live stream my level design sessions on Twitch because thanks to the wonderful people showing up in chat really helped define the first map and the rest of the episode. I’m not going to elaborate too much but you can definitely expect a huge improvement in both the technical and the visual department.
Creating my first monster in Quake
Another thing for 2020: diving deeper into Blender and flesh out my very first monster, fully animated. I must admit I still have a lot to learn in this department but I’m really eager to put in the effort and actually produce something that can actually be used in a game. I’ll be live streaming this as well so I’m counting on the more experienced members of my community to guide me through. 😉
Learning pixel art
Very ambitious, I know. This will probably start out as more of a side project and since I’m totally new to this, I’ll probably keep it for whenever the opportunity rises to work on this. Pixel art will be a very useful additions to my low poly models so I’m kind of adding this to the 3D modeling stuff.
Adding various improvements to my Twitch channel
I’ve been streaming for little over a year now and I recently started to notice some small growth. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting very fun and talented individuals and this gives me all the motivation I need to continue streaming and keep improving. There are some cool changes coming in 2020 so be sure to drop by sometime!
Continue work on some of my older maps
Besides Annie there are some other projects in the pipeline waiting to be completed for Half-Life and Quake II. If time allows it, I’m hoping to work on those as well and if I’m lucky, I’ll be able to release a couple extra maps as well during the year.
As you can see, tons and tons of stuff to do this year but I’m really looking forward to all of this because it’s just something that I love to do. Hopefully, I’ll get to meet some new people along the way and build some friendships. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some work to do! 😉
Looking forward to seeing you online!
